Data, Databases and Object Automation

Database programs are today’s electronic file cabinets.  Most databases have associated screens to input and managed their data, but databases can also be accessed by other programs.  Additional "front-end" programs can add tiers for management purposes like online data analysis. Programs using object level access can do data extraction, data conversion, and reporting functions.

We can help you with your data management needs.

The PC has provided individual users with extraordinary access to information.  Many if not most modern offices use packages like Microsoft Office®.  With its combined spreadsheet, word processing and database capabilities.  Unfortunately most people move data between these associated packages via cut and paste.  Many have learned how to link contents from one of these packages into another.

But, there is a hidden power within office to more directly integrate functionality between these packages.  The power is driven by the exposure of the internal Objects within these programs.  The built-in macro language, Visual Basic for Applications®, is even provided within the program suite to enable truly automated actions among and between the various programs in the suite.

It is even possible to have MS-Access® act as a front-end to Database Servers like Oracle® and MS-SQL® and subsequently create Word® Documents and Excel® Spreadsheets through entirely automated procedures.  This type of programming is a particular specialty of ours.
